I announced on Saturday, May 31st that I will stand for election as the Republican candidate for Sarasota County Commission, District 1.  Our Congressman Vern Buchanan endorsed me for election as Sarasota County Commissioner for district 1 saying that "I got to know her as a world-class lady and hard worker when I worked with her while she was Sarasota Mayor".  US Senator Mel Martinez said "we have a good Republican running for that seat".

Note: Candidates for the Sarasota County Commission must live in the district they stand for, but ALL Sarasota County voters will vote for candidates for all districts up for election.
